      ISO Certification

      Orthex Group was audited for and received the ISO 45001 certification for occupational safety in addition to the previous ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certificates.

      Orthex promotes a zero-accident vision and culture. We want to ensure that all our employees have a safe workplace every day. Our focus is on preventing safety incidents, which is why we encourage our employees to report any near-misses, unsafe practices, or other safety observations. All reports are carefully analysed, and actions are carried out to prevent similar situations from re-occurring in the future.

      Orthex’s operations were audited for and awarded with ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety (OHS) in 2021. The certificate provides requirements for and guidance on establishing an OHS management system. The goal is to enable organisations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injuries and health issues, and to help improve their OHS performance. The auditor commended Orthex for existing practices, such as the “safety rounds” that are used to make safety observations at our factories. 

      Orthex also strives to minimise its impact on the environment and climate and invests in superior quality, safety, and design of its products. All our three factories in Finland and Sweden have already since 2002 been ISO 14001 and 9001 -certified for environmental and quality management.

       

      In May 2016 Orthex Group was amongst the first companies in the Nordic to be certified according to the new, 2015, version of the ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

      The new versions of the certificates differ from the old versions for example in the following points:

      • Improving environmental performance added
      • Increased prominence of environmental management within the organization's strategic planning processes
      • Addition of proactive initiatives to protect the environment from harm and degradation, such as sustainable resource use and climate change mitigation
      • Lifecycle thinking when considering environmental aspects

      This means that today Orthex Group is even more environmentally conscious than before. The auditors especially appreciated the Sustainability Report as well as the thorough environmental assessment that was done in each site.  The high awareness of the company strategy and environmental goals was praised during the auditing process.
